July 4th Fun in Boulder County

July 4th Celebrations in Boulder CountyJuly 4th is one of our favorite holidays.  Its peak summertime, lots of BBQ, family and friends and of course, fireworks!  What’s not to love?

There are lots of fun July 4th choices in Boulder County so read through the list and pick something fun to do.


We’ll start with Louisville because I have been planning Louisville’s July 4th Celebration for six years now and Jeff is my number #1 volunteer!  Come by the Golf Course and look us up.  We’ll be there!

The City of Louisville is hosting their annual July 4th Celebration at the Coal Creek Golf Course, 585 W. Dillon Road on Thursday July 4th starting at 6:00 p.m.

Festivities include:

Free face painting, free balloon animals and free hennas, food booths, including United Methodist Church’s favorite hamburgers and corn, jumpy castles, bungie trampoline and more.  The Boulder Concert Band will perform their patriot music beginning at 7:15 p.m. and will play until the fireworks start at approximately 9:30 p.m. There is no parking at golf course but free shuttles will run continuously starting at 6:00 p.m. from the Louisville Rec Center and Home Depot.  For more details visit LouisvilleCo.gov


The Lafayette Chamber of Commerce is hosting a community Fourth of July event at Waneka Lake Park, 1600 Caria Drive beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Festivities include:

Food concessions, a beer and wine garden, free face painting and balloons, pony rides, bounce house and more.  Chris Daniels and the Kings will play a free concert  from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.  Shuttle service is provided to the lake.  For more details visit LafayetteColorado.com


Superiors annual Fourth of July starts bright and early at 7 a.m. with the running of the Superior Downhill Mile – the fastest street mile in the U.S.  The race starts near Rock Creek Parkway and McCaslin Boulevard and ends near Rock Creek Parkway and Coalton Road.  Following the race the community parade takes off at 8:30 a.m. near the North Pool and this year’s theme is: America – We Build It Together!  A pancake breakfast will follow at 9 a.m.at Community Park with a DJ, vendors and inflatables for the kids. Erie hosts their annual celebration July 3rd and this year the festivities start at 5:00 p.m. at the Colorado National Golf Club, 2700 Vista Parkway

Activities will include sky divers, food and games, and a giant kids play land.  Fireworks shoot off at dark.  Get all the details at ErieCo.gov


Broomfield is hosting their community party Commons Park beginning at 5:30 p.m.  There will be pony rides, inflatables and a free concert by “FACE”.  Bring your picnic dinner or enjoy a dinner from the vendors in the park.  Fireworks begin at approximately 9:30 p.m. with shuttle service from Legacy High School.  You can get the full schedule at Broomfield.org


Boulder’s favorite: Ralphie’s Independence Day Blast will take place at Folsom Field.  This event features an appearance by CU’s mascot, Ralphie, a Folsom Field-wide sign-along with the Boulder Open Space Singing Rangers and a performance by Louisville’s Monarch High School marching band.  The gates open at 8 ap.m. and fireworks ignite at dusk.  For more details check out: Boulder4thofJuly.com
